Cresolat (Крезолат), 10 g Bottle – Antiseptic Liquid (Latus)
Purpose
Cresolat (Cresolat) is a highly effective medicated liquid developed for the antiseptic treatment and disinfection of the root canal system. It is utilized as a powerful agent for the management of complicated forms of caries, including infected pulpitis and various forms of periodontitis. The preparation is intended for intracanal use, ensuring a sustained therapeutic effect.
Composition and Complex Mechanism of Action
The uniqueness and effectiveness of Cresolat are secured by a balanced combination of four active components, each performing a key function:
-
Thymol: Acts as a potent antiseptic, effectively eliminating bacterial and fungal flora within the canal.
-
Parachlorophenol: Provides antibacterial and fungicidal action, significantly enhancing the overall antiseptic properties of the solution.
-
Hydrocortisone Acetate (0.5%): Delivers a crucial anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effect, working to reduce inflammation, swelling, and pain in the periapical tissues.
-
Camphor: Offers a soothing and penetrative quality, mitigating the irritating effect of the phenols and facilitating deeper penetration into the dentinal tubules.
This carefully balanced composition ensures that Cresolat provides both the sterilization of the infected canal and the necessary control over periapical inflammation, which is critically important for successful periodontitis treatment.
Indications for Use
-
Disinfection and sterilization of infected root canals.
-
Treatment of all forms of periodontitis, including apical periodontitis.
-
Management of severe forms of pulpitis with a high risk of infection.
-
Use as a temporary intracanal dressing (medicated filling) between appointments.
Method of Application (General Protocol)
-
Preparation: The clinician first performs mechanical and chemical preparation of the root canal.
-
Application: A cotton turunda (swab) is placed into the pulp chamber or root canal, lightly moistened with the Cresolat liquid.
-
Exposure: The liquid is left in the canal under a hermetic temporary filling for a period determined by the clinician (typically ranging from 24 hours to several days).
-
Retreatment: At the subsequent appointment, the canal is rinsed, dried, and prepared for permanent obturation.
